Out of the Box Skincare Products We Love Right Now

We know—it’s hard to escape the bombardment of skin care products we’re constantly being encouraged to purchase. Every influencer is ready to to walk us through their skincare routine, eagerly offering discount codes and affiliate links. We’re often left with a medicine cabinet full of serums and creams that sometimes seem to all blend together when it comes to their effectiveness.
We’re not here to give creams and serums a bad name—because both are vital to healthy, happy skin—but we’re ready to shake things up a bit and add some out-of-the-box products and practices to our self care rituals.
We rounded up a few that recently caught our attention:
1. Jillian Dempsey Gold Sculpting Bar
This 24K gold vibrating bar from Jillian Dempsey instantly makes skin feel and appear toned, lifted, contoured, and revived. With each vibration, the luxe, breakthrough bar mimics the effects of a massage, instantly relaxing facial muscles to release tension.
Not only is the bar beautiful (and you don’t need to ask us give our face a luxurious massage twice) professional makeup artist Jillian Dempsey has never led us astray before. She knows her stuff and we love her for it.
2. Bodha Aromatherapy Eye Pillow
Eye creams are great for tired eyes, but have you every considered giving your eyes some much deserved rest on their own pillow? Thanks to the Bodha Aromatherapy Eye Pillow, you can now breathe in the relaxing scent of lavender & chamomile while gently engaging acupressure points to soften the delicate muscles around the eyes.
The pillow is made from the softest cashmere and filled with a custom blend of organic buckwheat, lavender flowers & chamomile flowers. Truly the perfect complement to your beauty, meditation, or sleep ritual.
3. Microneedling Infusion Stamp
We know we’re going even father out of the box with this one, but microneedling has started to make waves in the skincare world and some trusted sources, including Kourtney Kardashian, swear by the controversial practice. Most popular on this new market is The Dew & Go microneedling infusion stamp, which allows for a gentler form of microneedling that deposits tiny droplets of “Skin Brew” (containing star ingredients like snail mucin and moringa) directly into the skin.
So how do it work? Upon stamping the skin, a signal is sent that there has been a micro-injury, which causes the skin to go into repair mode by building new collagen. Microneedling can also help minimize scars, brighten hyperpigmentation, and smooth any skin texture.
And although Dew & Go acknowledge that the benefits vary by person, results including tighter, plumper, and brighter skin apparently appear within days of first use. That’s a turnaround timeline we can get behind.
4. Rose Lip Polish from French Girl
Our lips are front and center when it comes to makeup, but are often forgotten about when it comes to TLC. That’s why this invigorating rose and mint-infused sugar scrub from French Girl is such a needed addition to our routine. Formulated with nourishing butters to gently remove dry skin, Rose Lip Polish leaves lips supple and hydrated.
Not only do we love the product, but $1 from every Rose Lip Polish sold on the French Girl website is donated in support of a charitable organization through the French Girl Gives Program. And by sourcing from a women's cooperative in Ghana, the shea butter used in the scrub is of highest quality while also supporting a small, women-run business.
As a small, women-run business ourselves, the Slassy team is eager to support brands who put in the effort to lift up other women in every way possible
We know we said we were thinking outside of the “cream and serum” box, but we couldn’t help including the Wine Oil from ARCONA in our roundup. Wine? On your face? Sounds pretty out of the box to us.
Harnessing the anti-aging power of Resveratrol—an anti-oxidant found in the skin of red grapes—ARCONA Wine Oil reverses the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and other visible signs of aging while nourishing it to increase radiance and improve elasticity. Wine Oil's Grape Seed Oil, rich in Linoleic and Oleic Acids, provides soothing and moisturizing support to the skin.
An opportunity to bring more wine into our lives? Count us in.
We know that a cold shower to start your day has proven benefits like increasing circulation, reducing inflammation, and adding an extra glow to your hair and skin. But now, The Skinny Confidential has harnessed the powers of ice to make a preventative skin tool that uses cold therapy to contour, tighten, and de-puff your skin.
This new tool instantly reduces puffiness and redness (think how an ice-pack can reduce swelling and bruising!) while boosting circulation, shrinking the size of pores, and helping with lymphatic drainage. No more heading back and forth to the freezer with a roller that melts in 2 minutes because The Hot Mess roller stays cold for at least 30.
The creator, Lauryn Evarts Bosstick, is set out to redefine the preventative beauty industry with on-the-pulse tools, no fluff effective consumables, and a spitfire incredible community. That’s a mission we can get behind.
